Robert Roddy M.D.
Dr. Robert Roddy has been privileged to provide psychiatric services to the Minneapolis–St. Paul community for over 25 years. A graduate of the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, he completed his general psychiatric residency training in Northern Ireland and attained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatry. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and is an active staff member at St. Joseph's Hospital and United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Dr. Roddy completed a Fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, where he is now an adjunct professor. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He is a former president of the American Society of Adolescent Psychiatry, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Throughout his career, Dr. Roddy has had the opportunity to assist children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health problems. He works collaboratively with fellow physicians, therapists, and community organizations and practices with a philosophy that treatment must encompass the needs of the whole person. He respects his patients' ability to benefit from an increased understanding of their difficulties and believes that carefully prescribed medication can often be beneficial.
Dr. Roddy has developed expertise in the treatment of anxiety, depression, attention deficit, developmental disorders, substance abuse and major mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Fiona Roddy
Office Manager
Fiona is the office manager. She studied hospital management at the University of Ulster in Belfast, Northern Ireland and has worked in health care since 1980. Fiona has managed Dr. Roddy's private practice for the last 15 years and is the first point of contact for new patients. Many a patient has commented on her understanding, gracious nature, and how quick she is to help in any way she can.
